My dream has always been to tour the world with a motorcycle. So for me the answer to this question is very easy. Motorcycle importers definitely have an advantage when it comes to having access to different kinds of motorcycles from around the world. So if I were a motorcycle importer I definitely know what I would do if I got the chance to go on a vacation. My dream vacation would be to pick the newest motorcycle model I had imported and start touring the world. It would be a dream to be able to use a different kind of motorcycle to travel through different parts of the world and through different terrain and on different roads. And I’ve always thought how amazing it would be to have access to a wide variety of motorcycles that I could ride and use for a while and then sell. But I don’t have access to those motorcycles, and also don’t know anything about selling second hand motorcycles when I’m done with my trip.
The extra perks for motorcycle traders
Imagine you’re facing a difficult time in your life. And you want to take some time off to reevaluate your life and do some self-healing. You can do a road-trip on route 66 in the states with a Harley Davidson. Or you could take a Honda CG125 and explore Southeast Asia. You could even take a trail bike and ride through the steppes of Central Asia. Not having the option to choose from different motorcycles hasn’t stopped me though. I have done several different road trips with my very old, warn-out and now unreliable Honda CG125.
The most daring trip I did
The most daring trip I’ve ever done was to have my motorcycle shipped to Turkey and ride overland all the way through Iran, Pakistan and India. I was initially planning on ending up in Vietnam but unfortunately I had to leave my trip half way and return. But that’s a story for another day. Of course this was a few years back when my motorcycle was still fairly new and in good shape. Overall it took me 3 months to get to Calcutta. I was very curious and was in no rush to get to my final destination. So I would take random roads and explore each of these countries at my own pace, or at least as long as my visa would allow me to stay in each country. Doing such trips is so rewarding. My advice to anybody who rides a motorcycle is to do an overland trip at least once in their lives if they can.
